The local fishermen search for the oyster pearl by diving around the ocean floor before retrieve the oysters from the sea. Phuket pearl’s farm then collects the oysters from fishermen.

Then each oyster is process in recuperation zone in order for each oyster to rest up to restore their health condition after the transport in approximately half a month.

After the recuperation is done, each oyster is to be sorting into 3 groups.

Group 1: The good breeder pearl oysters which are to be use for future breeders.

Groups 2: The healthy pearl oysters which have the perfect shell, ready for implanting nuclei on both shells.

Groups 3: The healthy pearl oysters with some incomplete structure which would then be implanting a single nucleus on one side of the shell.

Each nucleus is implanted into the pearl oysters, which nucleus’s size is depending on the size of each oyster to be received.

After the implantation process, the oysters are to be transfer to another recuperating zone to receive the extra care from the staffs to ensure the health due to the implantation is risky for the oyster. During this period, the staffs are closely monitored every oyster for approximately 30 days.

The healthy oysters with nucleus are drilling on its shell which is outside the oyster body so that no harm is to come to the oysters. Then the pearl oysters are to be strung in a row hanging from the wooden rafts frame that floating on top of the sea while the oysters are peacefully culturing beneath the sea surface. 

During the culturing period, the pearl oysters are frequently clean to remove the oyster’s natural enemy that comes to attach itself to the shell which could kill the oysters.

In approximately around 10 to 24 months, the pearls would be ready for harvesting. These pearls are to be transfer to Phuket Pearl’s factory for sorting each oyster into 3 different kind of raw product of: loose pearl, pearl on the shell and pearl oyster’s shell. 

The pearls are then sending to the manufacturing procedures which consist of:

1. Pearl separation according to the quality assessment of Phuket Pearl Group Company for quality control.

2. The manufacturing process to craft into the pearl jewelry by Phuket Pearl’s factory.

3. The assembly process is to attach the selected pearls with the setting.
